Hydrogen is more than just a trend, and Brussels has clearly recognized this. From October 26 to 30, 2026, the city will host the H2 Week, organized by the European Commission, Hydrogen Europe, the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, and UNIDO (the United Nations Industrial Development Organization) at Brussels Expo. MissionH24, the collaborative program between the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and H24Project to promote hydrogen in motorsports, is participating in this international event bringing together policymakers, institutions, and a wide range of stakeholders in the hydrogen sector.
A Panel Discussion: The 24 Hours of Le Mans and Endurance Racing Are Accelerating the Deployment of Hydrogen
On October 26, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the High Level Policy area, Hall 11 (with a simulcast to all conference centers), a panel discussion will bring together Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, CEO of Hydrogen Europe; Valérie Bouillon-Delporte, Executive Director of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership; Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and Co-President of MissionH24, as well as Kazuki Nakajima, Vice Chairman of TOYOTA Racing, multiple winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and driver of the first Toyota TR LH2 Racing Prototype at Le Mans in June 2026. “When motorsports collaborate with institutions to deploy hydrogen”, this is the theme presented, along with concrete examples regarding safety, the use of gaseous and/or liquid hydrogen, fuel cells, and combustion engines.
Note: An exclusive screening of an extract from the official film of the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, with a focus on the Hydrogen Village and hydrogen demonstrations during this major week in Le Mans. Carbon-free mobility is a crucial goal for motorsports.
This presentation is open to the public. To attend, head to the High Level Policy podium.
A booth (Hall 11, A20): MissionH24, a pioneering program
From October 26 to 29, in Hall 11, Booth A20, MissionH24 will showcase its work to the nearly 8,000 spectators expected to attend this H2 Week. Launched in 2018, the program, a collaboration between the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and H24Project aimed at promoting hydrogen in motorsports, will exhibit its first prototype, the LMPH2G, a fuel-cell race car that stores gaseous hydrogen, as well as videos of its latest vehicle, the H24EVO, which is now equipped with a hydrogen internal combustion engine supplied by TOYOTA Racing and stores liquid hydrogen. A hologram will answer visitors’ questions, and they will also test the DiscoverHy, a fun, educational tool developed by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest in collaboration with AdvancedH2Valley, a consortium that promotes the deployment of the Hydrogen in the Grand Ouest region.
By interacting with, exploring, and observing the exhibits, the public will be able to see how this pioneering program, dedicated to hydrogen and energy transition, has evolved in less than ten years. Just think of all the research that has been conducted during this time!
