H24Racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual with BWT

The 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual, which will take place next week-end on 13-14 June, will bring together 200 drivers from the motor sport and esports world elite at the wheel of simulators. 50 crews have entered for this new event.

The LMPH2G, the MissionH24 programme’s electric-hydrogen prototype, has been specially chosen as the Leading Car and Safety Car of the race. The LMPH2G will unleash the competitors on the track and intervene in the race whenever necessary.

At the wheel of the LMPH2G will be one of its current test drivers, Olivier Lombard, and professional sim racer, Aurélian Mallet who will be in the thick of the action in the most spectacular phases of the race.

For this event the MissionH24 prototype will fly the colours of an additional partner: BWT, Best Water Technology, one of the European leaders in the field of water treatment. The Austrian company that’s heavily involved in motor sport, in Formula 1 in particular, is also sharing the MissionH24 entry for the energy transition for mobility and is underlining this by its participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual.

A new prototype for H24Racing this summer

3rd January 2020
A new electric-hydrogen prototype (currently under construction) designed over the past few months by the H24Racing team will take to the track this summer in the MissionH24 colours.

The new car will be much more than an evolution of the LMPH2G and affirms the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s and GreenGT’s determination to accelerate the development of electric-hydrogen-powered racing cars as their aim is to introduce a dedicated category at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This 2020 model will mark a new step forward in terms of performance and in all the technical areas including aerodynamics, ground links, the powertrain, autonomy, etc.

This new prototype (as well as its name) will be unveiled during the summer. It will immediately undertake an intensive test programme.

Total invents a mobile hydrogen refueling station

20th September 2019
Total, MissionH24’s reference partner, has designed and developed the first portable hydrogen refueling station for the requirements of the programme. The French energy provider will transport it to all the circuits where the H24Racing’s prototype is competing; it enables the car to fill up with hydrogen on the pit lane like all the other cars using conventional energy.

This station consists of a container which houses the compressor, then the injection of H2 into the car through a refueling hose used by the refuelers. Thanks to an infra-red device, also developed by Total, the station and car “talk” to each other to optimize the flow and pressure as the hydrogen is being fed into the tank.

The current refueling pressure is 300 bars and Total is already working on an evolution of the station that will allow refueling at 700 bars.
