An exceptional display at the 24 Hours of Le Mans

For the 24 Hours of Le Mans, MissionH24, a collaboration between the Automobile Club de l'Ouest and H24Project for the deployment of hydrogen in motorsport, will be at the heart of the ACO H2 Village with a remarkable exhibition: a 14-meter diameter transparent bubble structure will house the H24EVO and its partners. An exceptional setting for intense events, particularly on June 11 at 11:30 a.m.

Dedicated to hydrogen, the 2025 ACO H2 Village will present two themes to the thousands of spectators expected at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the fourth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. One part of this 2,500 m² area will be dedicated to hydrogen mobility, the other to hydrogen racing and endurance racing. MissionH24 will thus occupy a central position. The collaborative program between the Automobile Club de l'Ouest and H24Project, launched in 2018, will showcase its third-generation hydrogen-electric prototype, the H24EVO. Unveiled last year, this sleek machine, with its ambitious aerodynamics, will be joined by key partners.

Under a transparent dome, spectators will be able to discover this innovative car and some of its crucial components. Symbio will have a fuel cell system, Michelin an "educational" tire, while McLaren Applied, Multimatic, Bosch, Isoclima, Sobek, Momo, and BrightLoop will share their expertise with the public. TotalEnergies, the exclusive supplier to MissionH24, will equip the ACO H2 village with a 700 bar mobile H2 station and will be publicly refueling hydrogen racing prototypes late Wednesday and Friday afternoon. These are not-to-be-missed moments.

A date to remember: June 11 at 11:30 a.m. will be the official inauguration of the ACO H2 village by Pierre Fillon, President of the ACO and Co-President of MissionH24, and Jean-Michel Bouresche, CEO of H24Project and Co-President of MissionH24. This event will be the setting for important announcements.

A pioneering program, MissionH24 will host the SDIS72 and ENSOSP, entities working for the safe deployment of hydrogen, with standards sometimes yet to be written. As a testament to this essential collaboration for the future of hydrogen mobility, the 2025 National Firefighters' Congress will be held at the Le Mans circuit from October 8th to 11th.

Note that Adrien Tambay will lead tours of the MissionH24 dome starting Wednesday, June 11th. The schedule will be confirmed on June 6th.

H2: Premieres to the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2025

From June 10th to 15th, the Hydrogen Village will welcome numerous stakeholders in this zero-carbon mobility sector. Presentations, demonstrations, and surprises are on the agenda.

To decarbonize motor racing, particularly endurance racing, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest has opted for hydrogen, with the goal of creating a hydrogen category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship by 2028.

Before this pioneering date, spectators can enjoy the Hydrogen Village, which will focus on two themes in 2025: motorsport, competition, and endurance racing, with prototypes and a 700-bar TotalEnergies hydrogen station that will provide public refueling, as well as hydrogen mobility, which is already very real, on two or four wheels, in the air, space, or on water.

MissionH24, the program in collaboration between the ACO and H24Project, Alpine, Ligier-Bosch and Toyota will present their hydrogen programs, with spectacular vehicles, while spectators will be able to see that it is already possible to ride a bicycle, a motorcycle, a car, a hydrogen bus, or to fly and navigate using hydrogen... Fun and educational activities will also be available for young and old with remote-controlled cars, or with the DiscoverHy, a small racing car created with the AdvancedH2Valley consortium of which the ACO is a member, or with the animated research of the University of Le Mans.

On Wednesday, June 11th, at 11:30 a.m., the Hydrogen Village will be inaugurated in the presence of Pierre Fillon, President of the ACO and Co-President of MissionH24, and all the exhibitors. Presentations will be held on this occasion. Note that every day, from Wednesday to Sunday, Adrien Tambay will speak in the morning and afternoon to explain the MissionH24 program and the various village activities to spectators.

Track demonstrations, featuring two zero-carbon performance vehicles, will take place on Thursday, June 12th and Saturday, June 14th, featuring the Alpine Alpenglow HY6 and the Ligier Bosch JS2 RH2. Zero-emission endurance racing will be unveiled on the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit. These two vehicles will be on display in the Hydrogen Village, along with many other surprises.

Hydrogen Meets the Fans

At the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, a large crowd (98,874) was able to discover endurance racing's strategy for decarbonizing racing: hydrogen.

In the Spa-Francorchamps Fan Zone, a three-day Hydrogen Village allowed the public to discover prototypes and concepts of hydrogen-powered racing cars such as the Alpine Alpenglow Hy6 and the Toyota Gazoo Racing Yaris H2 Concept. Track demonstrations were also held on Friday and Saturday to showcase the evolution of this new technology. Alpine's Alpenglow Hy6 impressed many spectators. To refuel with gaseous hydrogen, a TotalEnergies 700 bar station was installed for the first time in the Belgian paddock.

Educational and fun activities offered by the ACO and MissionH24 allowed young and old alike to 'handle' hydrogen and perform water electrolysis, while experts from the ACO, MissionH24, TotalEnergies, Alpine, Toyota, Michelin, Ligier and the FIA interacted with participants at the H2 forum co-organized by the ACO, the FIA WEC and Hydrogen Europe, or H2 Skills. The public also had access to this structure and took as many photos as they asked questions about the Hydrogen energy vector, which should be introduced in Endurance competition by 2028.
